DELHI: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) central office was inaugurated by the party supremo and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) in Vasant Vihar of Delhi on Thursday afternoon. KCR unveiled a plaque to mark the inauguration of the newly-constructed party building at the pre-decided muhurtham of 1:05 pm, accompanied by Telangana Ministers, BRS MPs, MLAs and other leaders.

After entering the party office premises, KCR first hoisted the BRS flag before taking part in the special puja signifying the ‘house-warming’ (gruha pravesam) ceremony. Priests and Vedic scholars who performed the puja blessed KCR and party senior leader K Keshava Rao, ministers Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Ch Malla Reddy, Srinivas Goud and others on this occasion. Later, he cut the ribbon at the main door of the office and sprinkled sacred rice at the entrance as per the religious traditions.

After the traditional rituals, KCR headed to his chamber on the first floor where he assumed his seat. He was greeted by Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Telangana Legislative Council Chairman Guttha Sukhender Reddy, ministers and other party leaders on this momentous occasion.

Earlier, at around 12:30 pm, KCR took part in special rituals at the ‘yagasala’ on the premises of the new office. He participated in Sudarshana Puja, homam and vastu puja. He was expected to hold an hour-long meeting, the first ever in the BRS central office, with key leaders and party representatives.

The permanent building of the BRS was constructed in Vasanth Vihar of Delhi. Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy, who personally oversaw the construction of the Dr B R Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat in Hyderabad, and MP Joginipally Santhosh Kumar have supervised the arrangements for the inauguration of the BRS central office.

All the main arteries leading to the BRS office in Vasanth Vihar, Ashok Road and the surroundings of Telangana Bhavan have been adorned with the trademark pink flags of the party and flex banners. The rooms inside the BRS office including the President’s chamber, conference hall and other special enclosures were also bedecked with flowers which added their bit to the festive atmosphere there.

In view of KCR’s visit, elaborate security arrangements have been made at the BRS office and in its vicinity.
