RAJANNA SIRCILLA: Minister for IT and Industries KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Wednesday said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) was probably the only political leader in the country who had openly declared that he followed his faith and performed yagnas on a mega scale.

He said this after laying the foundation for the renovation and reconstruction works for the Lakshmi Venkateswara Swamy temple in Sircilla, along with TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. The TTD will be spending Rs 2 crore to construct the sanctum sanctorum and a Kalyana Mantapam at the temple premises.

“Organising yagnas or reconstruction of Yadadri temple, from building Kaleshwaram project to transforming agriculture in Telangana, KCR has left no sector untouched,” the minister said. He added that he had shown a glimpse of the development of Telangana to the TTD chairman while they were on the way from Hyderabad to Sircilla.

The TTD Chairman lauded the effort of the Chief Minister and said that only KCR could bring in transformation in a wide range of sectors including schools and temples, KTR said. He thanked YV Subba Reddy for understanding the requests made by the temple committee members and accepting to further cooperate in developing the ‘Garbhalaya’ of the temple on the lines of the Tirumala temple.

Earlier YV Subba Reddy said in Yellareddy that the TTD had taken up renovation of ancient temples and construction of new temples all over the country to promote the Hindu faith as per the instructions of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

Recently, the TTD Chairman has laid the foundation stone for the construction of the TTD temple in Karimnagar. He added that they had taken up renovation of temples in Sircilla following the request made by KTR.

Telangana State Planning Board Vice-Chairman B Vinod Kumar also participated in the foundation-laying ceremony.
