MEDCHAL: To keep the pace of development in fast-growing peripheral constituencies on par with Hyderabad city, a separate budget will be declared for Medchal, LB Nagar, Uppal and Qutbullah constituencies said Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Chief K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) addressing the ‘Praja Ashirvad Sabha’ at Medchal on Wednesday.

“These constituencies resemble mini-India as many poor people arrive here in search of livelihood from different parts of the country. But we have to provide them with drinking water and all urban amenities and infrastructure. For that we need a separate budget,” the Chief Minister said.

Chief Minister said that in Medchal alone the Government spent Rs 350 crore for drinking water, distributed 26,000, 2BHK houses and the stage was set to distribute another one lakh houses free of cost to beneficiaries in Hyderabad. “Development initiated by us should continue. Because the Congress Government and the others who ruled us for over five decades treated us like second-class citizens,” KCR said.

“When the then Chief Minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, Kiran Kumar Reddy challenged us that he would not give a single rupee for Telangana, none of the Congress leaders objected to it. A small mistake that our leaders made in 1956 haunted us for many decades,” KCR pointed out. He cautioned the people of Medchal to be aware of false promises made by political parties during election time.

After Telangana was formed, the State achieved the highest per capita income, power capita power utilisation, and drinking water to every household under Mission Bhagiratha, the CM said.

Enlisting the promises made in the party Manifesto, the BRS chief said that the Government had delivered whatever it promised and even more than that.

Commending the developmental work undertaken by the local MLA and Labour Minister Ch Malla Reddy, the Chief Minister said that the jovial but efficient Minister had transformed the face of Medchal.

“He dreamed about becoming a Minister. He prayed at Sammakka Sarakka temple to become one. He is rich and can handle a 6 lakh strong Medchal constituency,” KCR said.

Malla Reddy while urging the Chief Minister for the beautification of Shamirpet reservoir, said that the Malkajgiri MP and the TPCC president Revanth Reddy did nothing for the Loksabha constituency.

Ragidi Laxma Reddy, a senior Congress leader from Uppal and his supporters joined BRS in the presence of KCR. The BRS Chief invited them into the party fold by offering them pink scarves.
