HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) called upon the cadre in Chevella Parliamentary Constituency to work hard to ensure the victory of Kasani Gnaneshwar Mudiraj.

Addressing party senior leaders and former legislators here at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday KTR said that BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao would address a public meeting in Chevella on April 13.

Criticising G. Ranjith Reddy, BRS sitting MP (Chevella) who defected to the Congress after the party lost power in the recent Assembly elections, KTR said that Ranjith Reddy earned a name only after the BRS nominated him and got him elected as an MP.

“The BRS workers struggled hard in 2019 and ensured his victory. We gave respect and prominence to Ranjith Reddy inside the party organisation. He was given ample freedom to work. He deceived the party by pretending that he would quit politics and wouldn’t contest in 2024 elections,” KTR said adding that he defected to the Congress for power.

KTR expressed anguish that Ranjith Reddy joined the Congress on the K Kavitha was arrested by the ED. “He used to call her his younger sister. But he was so shameless to join Congress with that fake smiley face,” KTR noted.

Recalling the experience of Konda Vishweshwar Reddy who defected to Congress from BRS, KTR said that leaders must remember that they were not bigger than the party. “If that is true then only independent candidates will win elections and there will be no need for any political outfit,” he pointed out.

KTR said that Ranjith Reddy’s followers in Chevella were in disarray as the ground-level leadership was averse to working hand in hand with Congress that they fought in the recent elections. “Congress is facing a shortage of leaders. They are going to lose Chevella, Secunderabad, and Malkajgiri seats where they fielded rented candidates,” KTR said.

He predicted a clean sweep by BRS candidate and BC leader Kasanai Gnaneshwar who had a blemishless image among the public and a friend of weaker sections and minorities.
