HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) announced on Saturday that 'podu' land pattas would be handed over to tribals across the State on June 30. He will formally launch the distribution programme from Asifabad district headquarters.

Ministers and MLAs will also distribute pattas across the State on the same day in their respective districts and constituencies. Though the programme was scheduled for June 24, it was postponed by the State Government following the visit of the National Election Committee to the state. Training classes are being conducted by the committee for district collectors in this regard. "Adding to this, Bakrid festival falls on June 29 and hence the state government had postponed the distribution of podu land pattas programme to June 30," officials said.

Meanwhile, KCR would also be inaugurating the newly constructed district collectorate of Asifabad along with the SP office on June 30.
