Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy confident of becoming Home Minister of Telangana

HYDERABAD: Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddyon Thursday claimed that he was all set to become a minister during the cabinet expansion to take place immediately after the ongoing budget session of Telangana Legislative Assembly.

In an informal chat with media persons in the Assembly lobby, Rajagopal Reddy said that the Congress High Command had assured him of a cabinet berth and he would be allotted the portfolio of Home Minister. He said only he could keep the BRS leaders under control after becoming the Home Minister. He predicted that BRS leaders would be sent to jail if he got the portfolio of Home Minister. Further, he predicted that the BRS would ultimately merge with the BJP at one point or the other.

Meanwhile, something unexpected happened between Rajgopal Reddy and BRS leader K T Rama Rao in the Assembly lobbies. They bumped into each other and had a friendly chat. KTR jokingly asked Rajgopal Reddy about his hopes of becoming a minister, and Rajgopal Reddy, in a light-hearted way, talked about how it's tricky dealing with family matters in politics to get a ministerial position.

The friendly talk continued as KTR asked Rajgopal Reddy whether his daughter, Keerthi or son Sankeerth would be contesting the Lok Sabha elections this time. Rajgopal Reddy, with a quick sense of humour, mentioned a surprise, saying, "This time, my wife Lakshmi might join." He then jokingly asked Rama Rao not to involve him in more discussions.
