HYDERABAD: TRS working president and Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao's much-awaited visit to Khammam has apparently been yielding the desired result, though the extent of benefit has yet to be seen on ground. KTR's visit focussed on addressing the internal dissensions within the district unit of the party.

He met dissident leaders of the TRS on Saturday and assured them that there would be no room for group politics in the district. In order to build unity among them, KTR sought to resolve the differences between several senior leaders in Khammam district.

It is very evident that the infighting for the supremacy over the district among the supporters of former minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, former MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar is the reason for the conflict within the party. Besides, TRS floor leader in Lok Sabha and Khammam MP Nama Nageswara Rao's group too is at daggers with Tummala Nageswara Rao faction.

In 2018 elections, the internal bickering within the TRS has cost the party a huge loss -- the party has won only one out of 10 Assembly seats in Khammam and Bhadradri-Kothagudem combined.

The IT Minister participated in the Pattana Pragathi program, and inaugurated the cable-stayed suspension bridge and a musical fountain at Lakaram tank bund, the new office building of Khammam Municipal Corporation, and 240 double bedrooms dwellings units at Tekulapally, among other facilities.

All the senior leaders of the party including Khammam MP and TRS floor leader in Lok Sabha Nama Nageswara Rao, Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar, the former Khammam MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, the former minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, the Government Whip Rega Kantha Rao, a host of MLAs and former MLAs were present at the meeting.

KTR has requested the party leaders to work together, sinking their differences, to highlight the development taken up by the TRS Government and make efforts to ensure a landslide victory in the upcoming Assembly elections.
