HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) has denied having any connection with the alleged phone tapping scandal that took place during the tenure of the BRS Government in the State.

Addressing media at the party headquarters here on Wednesday, KTR said that the selective leakages of information from remand reports of the accused were a part of the attempt of the Congress to tarnish his image. “I have nothing to do with phone tapping. Allegations of me threatening heroines are a figment of their imagination. I will not tolerate character association and will face the issue legally,” he said.

Demanding inquiry into phone tapping right from 2004, particularly during the ten years of Congress Government in the erstwhile State, he said that the then Telangana MPs Komatireddy Venkatreddy, Ponnam Prabhakar, and Gaddam Vivek alleged that their phones were tapped by the Kiran Kumar Reddy Government. KTR also said that in 2022, the Apple company cautioned him and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi that their phones were hacked.
