HYDERABAD: BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) filed his nomination papers for the Rajanna Sircilla Assembly constituency on Thursday at the RDO office in Siricilla at 11:45 am.

This is the fifth time that KTR had filed his nomination after he won from Sircilla in 2009, 2010 (by-polls), 2014 and 2018 elections.

Before leaving for Sircilla, KTR offered special pujas with his wife at Pragathi Bhavan and took the blessings of his father and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and his mother Shobhamma.

Following the nomination, KTR would participate in road shows in Armur and Kodangal constituencies.

Speaking after filing his nomination, KTR said, "Sircilla is where I started my political career. I won and developed Sircilla with the blessings of its people. Today people here can be proud of its development. I worked as a Minister for nine years with the blessings of KCR. We will win here with a respectable majority."

Targetting the opposition, KTR said, "I request the voters to think about what I did for Sircilla and what the BJP and the Congress did. Should we sit back and witness Gujaratis invade out State? Do you want electricity or do you want Congress? Do you want tears, do you want water?

"When elections come, they say caste and religion. Should we bow down to leaders from Delhi? If we surrender to temporary money and drugs, we will suffer for a long time. If Telangana loses its voice, it will suffer again," he said.
