KHAMMAM: Telangana Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) KT Rama Rao (KTR) said “There is power in the name of Taraka Rama Rao. With that strength only, he became a minister twice. We don’t know how Lord Rama and Lord Krishna, but we only know how the legendary NTR epitomised them.”

KTR said that NTR was a God for Telugus and scaled many heights in life. The former Chief Minister left one thing unfulfilled by scoring a hat trick. However, NTR’s protege, KCR, would achieve it with the blessings of the late NTR. He also predicted that K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) would be the only Chief Minister to achieve a hat trick in the Southern part of India, the feat even former Chief Minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) couldn’t do.

The MA&UD Minister along with Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar inaugurated the newly constructed NTR Park on Khammam Lakaram Tank Bund at an estimated cost of Rs 1.37 crore. Earlier, KTR also laid the foundation stone for a slew of development activities Underground Drainage (UGD) works in Khammam to be taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 10 crore and AMRUT 2.0 UGD to be constructed at a cost of Rs 2.49 crore. He inaugurated a sports turf developed by the Khammam Municipal Corporation at SBIT engineering college road.

KTR lays stone for integrated palm oil factory

KTR said that Telangana is all set to become a new home for the Godrej group. "With the groundbreaking of their first palm oil factory in Khammam, this is first of the many investments in diverse areas such as dairy, animal feed, retail, real estate, FMCG and much more that we are working closely together on," he said.

The MA&UD Minister said that Khammam would host a world class edible oil processing complex with India's first commercial seed garden bringing the top end plant genetics to India. This plant with an investment of Rs 300 crore would support around 50,000 farmers and create employment for 2,000 persons. Another milestone in the unfolding of the yellow revolution in Telangana, he added.
