KHAMMAM: A goods lorry transporting Electronic Voting Machines from Hyderabad to West Bengal met with an accident at Pallipadu village of Konijerla mandal in Khammam district leaving two people injured in the incident.

According to police, a lorry carrying the EVMs to West Bengal from Hyderabad had lost control and rammed into a DCM vehicle heading from Wyra to Khammam with a load of coconut. While the DCM vehicle overturned, the driver of the lorry and the other person sustained injuries.

The lorry carrying EVMs, which was escorted by West Bengal police with three cars, was damaged at the front. The local police, who learned about the incident, arrived at the spot and moved the car to the side with the help of a crane to ensure that there is no disruption of the traffic.
