Man hacks lover to death in Nirmal for rejecting his love

HYDERABAD: A brutal incident took place in Nirmal district where a youth hacked a 23-year-old woman to death in broad daylight with a sickle on the main road in Shivanagar, Khanapur, for rejecting his love and marrying another person.

According to the police, the deceased was identified as Alekhya who was shopping for her wedding with her sister-in-law and nephew. On the way back, the accused Srikanth attacked the trio. The sister-in-law tried to stop the 27-year-old assailant but failed and was later shifted the injured to a hospital for treatment.

Upon learning of the incident, the police immediately rushed to the scene. Alekhya's body was sent for post-mortem. The accused was angry allegedly because Alekhya had started avoiding him after her family members had planned her wedding.
