HYDERABAD: Maoists have released a letter making sensational allegations that the Congress Government in

Telagana was responsible for the recent encounter in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra where four Maoists were killed.

Top Maoist leader and official spokesperson of the party, Jagan, released a letter saying that the Congress, which came to power in Telangana in the name of 'Praja Palana', is continuing counter-insurgency operations by joining hands with the BJP.

They letter held the Telangana Government and the police responsible for the Gadchiroli encounter. "They allegedly killed comrades Mangu (DVPM), Vargesh (VM), Raju (PM) and Budram (PM) in the name of encounter in Kollamarka forest area of Gadchiroli on March 19, 2024," the letter said.

Jagan alleged that the encounter in Gadchiroli was planned where the Telangana police poisoned the rice of the deceased.

"They were captured, tortured and brutally murdered after they lost consciousness after consuming the poisoned food. The SP of Manchirial district had planned this. The Telangana government is claiming that the four members died in an encounter with the Maharashtra police only to wash off their hands from the incident. After this incident, a joint meeting was held with the SPs of Manchirial, Bhupalapalli and Gadchiroli districts of Telangana and Maharashtra to continue the war to eliminate Maoists. It is clear what is the policy of Congress under the guise of democracy," said the letter.

Jagan also accused that on March 8, two innocent tribal youths, Madev and Madkal from Tummirelli of Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh, were arrested and killed by the Dummugudem police. "The family members have been looking for them for 25 days but the police are not reveaking their whereabouts. Recently, Charla police arrested five youths from Nendra village of Bijapur district and allegedly tortured them," he said.

Jagan expressed concern that adivasis were not being allowed to live in peace and were not being recognized as citizens of the country. In his letter, Jagan demanded that the Congress Government and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to take full responsibility for the Gadchiroli encounter and for killing tribal youths. He wanted the Government to declare details of those youths killed and action to be taken against officials who killed them.
