HYDERABAD: Telangana Forest Minister Konda Surekha seems to be ok with the appointment of people of Andhra origin in important positions.

The minister strongly came in support of the appointment of Rajanikanth Reddy of Andhra origin as the Additional Advocate-General of Telangana.

Addressing media at the media point in the Telangana Ass, the minister questioned BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha as to why was she afraid of the appointment of Rajanikanth as the Additional AG.

“Why is the BRS feeling bad about his appointment?” she asked.

The minister said that Rajanikanth Reddy argued 2,200 cases against the BRS Government. He was general secretary of the Advocates Association of the State High Court. He had never done anything against the interests of Telangana. The Congress government had appointed Rajanikanth Reddy as he fought for the rights of Telangana.

It may be recalled that MLC Kavitha questioned the appointment of Additional Advocate-General, and also the advocates on record in the Supreme Court. And those lawyers, including Devan Sehgal, argued Revanth Reddy’s cash for vote case.

She had also found fault with the appointment of three out of four directors drawn from Andhra region in the TSSPDCL.

Kavitha had referred to the four-hour power outage in Gachibowli IT Corridor and also in industrial areas and sought to know why would they protect the interests of Telangana.
