MAHBUBNAGAR: Making no hard-hitting statements on any political party in the poll-bound State of Telangana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing the ‘Palamuru Prajagarjana’ public meeting organised by the BJP in Mahbubnagar on Sunday said that people of Telangana are ready for a change and they are ready to elect BJP in the ensuing elections.

Enthused by an impressive crowd that cheered him whenever he addressed them ‘Na Kutumba Sabhyulara’ in Telugu, Narendra Modi said that the people of Telangana have supported the party candidates in different elections.

“It shows that the people of Telangana have decided to bring a change, bring BJP. Telangana needs a transparent and corruption-free Government. They need those who work at the grassroots level, “the PM said.

Mentioning the situation of farmers before the State was separated, he said that the Congress spent only Rs 3,400 crore on providing MSP, whereas the BJP spent Rs 27,000 crore on MSP in a single year. “This is eight times higher than what they did, we gave more that with no chance of middlemen,” Modi said.

Without mentioning the name of the BRS Government, the Prime Minister alleged that the State Government here claimed that it had constructed humongous irrigation projects, but failed to give irrigation to the farmers. “Here the Government made the Irrigation schemes to send money into their pockets. Corruption occurred in the name of irrigation schemes in Telangana,” he pointed out.

Family run parties

Coming heavily on two parties that were run by families, Narendra Modi said that the Majlis (AIMIM) controlled the steering of the Car (BRS) “Two family-run parties are running the Telangana. They are known for their corruption and commission. They operate on only one formula, party of the family, by the family and for the family. They have turned a political party into a private limited company. The President, CEO and Director all are family members. Only a few are enrolled from outside as supporting staff,” Modi said. But BJP worked for only the people of the country and the State, Modi added.

Attributing the delay in setting up the Central Tribal University in Mulugu to the indifference of the State Government, he said that the State Government willfully delayed the allocation of the land required to set up the much-awaited university with Central funds.

Resisting from directly taking the name of the Congress that was on a guarantee-giving spree, Modi said that in the case of BJP, the guarantee would be Modi, a man who would keep his word come what may.

“Take the issue of crop loan waiver. Many died by suicide in Telangana and the State Government did nothing. We don’t have our government here but we did try. We reopened the Ramagundam Fertiliser plant at a cost of Rs 6,300 crore. Deposited Rs 10,000 crore PM Kisan Samman Nidhi funds directly into farmers accounts,” he said.

Modi who was greeted by tribal women while he made a grand entry into the Bhoothpur ITI grounds where the public meeting was held, said that the Women Reservation bill had strengthened the voice of women in the nation and particularly in Telangana. “ Your vote supported Modi, Modi in turn strengthened the women,” he said.
