HYDERABAD: KT Rama Rao has criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asked why is he going to address a rally in Mahabubnagar after spewing venom on Telangana. The Prime Minister is scheduled to address a rally in Bhoothpur of Mahabubnagar on October 1, 2023.

Fielding a volley of questions at a press conference in Telangana Bhavan on Tuesday, KTR told the Prime Minister to, "Answer the questions to the people of Telangana before entering Mahabubnagar. Explain why the Centre is troubling the Palamuru Project whereas the neighbouring Karnataka has received many favours when the BJP was in power.

"The Centre created difficulties by not according project permissions. The share of Krishna water has not been resolved for the last 10 years . Prime Minister Modi should explain why he has failed to pass the order to the tribunal of providing the rightful 770 TMC of Krishna River water to the Palamuru. We went to the Supreme Court to settle the share of Krishna water. We believed the Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekawat then and withdrew the case. Do the needful atleast now after nine-and-a-half-years and accord national project status to Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme."

KTR added that the Prime Minister was coming to Mahabubnagar only to hunt for votes.

"On the first day of the new Parliament, Modi spewed venom on Telangana. The BJP leaders are now fuming when Palamuru is turning green due to construction of the lift irrigation project. The BJP is a party that betrayed Telangana. So we are asking a few questions. Why is Narendra Modi spewing venom on Telangana and why is he coming here? Why is he repeatedly insulting the birth of Telangana?" he asked.

Speaking about the rejection of the nominations of BRS leaders Dr Dasoju Sravan and Kurra Satyanarayana as MLCs under the Governor’s quota, KTR questioned Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, "If she had thought with her heart, she would not have done like this. Dasoju is a professor and well educated. K Satyanarayana is a tribal leader who has also worked in trade unions at the national level. Despite being a tribal leader, he contested and won a general seat like Sangareddy as an MLA."

Describing the reason for their rejection by the Governor for them being active in politics as ridiculous, KTR said,

"If these two are unfit, is a person who was a state BJP president in Tamil Nadu a day before taking charge as Governor of Telangana fit? What is wrong if they are active politically? We condemn the behavior of the Governor. We will explore all possible options.

"Congress and BJP are hand in glove and is glaring in Telangana, In Karnataka , the BJP Governor will help Congress leaders become MLCs. Even in BJP-ruled states, people who are not eligible are nominated as MLCs, Along with Modi, the Governors as his agents are undemocratic," he added.

On being asked about his opinion on 'One Nation-One Election', KTR felt that it was a poll gimmick by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to divert the attention of public.

Stating that the proposed delimitation of Parliament seats based on population as unjust, KTR said, "Southern states can’t be penalised for performing well to control population on the advice of the Government of India and in the interest of the nation. Cutting across political lines, people of South India will voice their concern and take the issue to the notice of Delhi. Hope wisdom will prevail."
