NEW DELHI: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has said that a new Telangana Bhavan will be built in the national capital to reflect the culture of the State.

Revanth Reddy left for New Delhi on Tuesday from Hyderabad to meet All India Congress Committee (AICC) leaders and discuss a few issues, including the State cabinet expansion. During his visit, he also focused on the division of common assets between the two states, Telangana/Andhra Pradesh Bhawan in New Delhi.

Revanth Reddy held a comprehensive review on the issue at his residence in New Delhi with Telangana Bhavan Resident Commissioner Gaurav Uppal and Bhavan OSD Sanjay Jaju. He inquired about the total area of the building, details their condition and Telangana's share in it.

The officials informed the Chief Minister that a total of 19.781 acres of land was available in the joint estate that included Sabari block, internal roads, Godavari block on 8.781 acres of Sambun bhawan, old nursing hostel on 3.359 acres and Pataudi house on 7.641 acres. Revanth Reddy asked about Telangana's share in it.

The officials said that as per the State Bifurcation Act, Telangana would get around 8.245 acres of land and 11.536 acres would go to Andhra Pradesh (in the ratio of 41.68:58.32). The Chief Minister enquired about the present condition of the buildings, residential houses of the officers and staff.

Resident Commissioner Gaurav Uppal said that most of the buildings had become dilapidated and unusable as they were built three to four decades ago. Earlier, the Chief Minister asked the officials to focus on the division of assets between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. He also examined the Bhavan map and gave suggestions to the officials on the division of assets.
