KARIMNAGAR: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at the residence of Tafreez Khan, a man suspected of having links with the banned Popular Front of India (PFI), in Karimnagar on Thursday. However, Khan was unavailable and was reportedly working in Muscat.

Acting on a tip-off, NIA officials in collaboration with the Telangana Police, descended upon the house of the alleged PFI affiliate on Thursday. As part of their investigative efforts, the NIA team expanded their searches to encompass several other locations in Adilabad too.

The primary focus of these investigations was Khan's residence, located within the Karkhana Gadda area. The search operation commenced in the early hours of Thursday morning, led by a contingent of NIA officials from Hyderabad.

To ensure the security and orderly conduct of the searches, personnel from the Armed Reserve Police were strategically deployed across the vicinity.

Sources indicate that the individual under scrutiny hailed from Hussaini Pura who had reportedly left the country for employment abroad. The NIA's team then questioned Tafreez's family members to gather relevant information and insight. The officials also seized some documents and other articles from Taufeeq’s house.
