KHAMMAM: Disgruntled leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy continued his tirade against his party for ignoring him in all possible ways in Khammam district. The former MP from Khammam on Monday said that the purpose of Telangana statehood was not served due to failures, be it in providing water for irrigation or creating employment.

Stating that the BRS government had failed to live up to the people's aspirations, Srinivasa Reddy alleged that the party was just appeasing people at the time of a by-election by sanctioning two-bedroom houses and announcing new schemes and later ignoring them. He said that the government was harassing the sarpanches by not paying bills for four years and deceiving them with false promises.

Expressing his displeasure, the sulking leader claimed that the water woes of the Ashwaraopet constituency were completely ignored by the Government.

Responding to the corruption charges against him, Srinivasa Reddy said that he was ready for a debate on this. He challenged the BRS government to suspend him instead of targeting his followers. Srinivasa Reddy further said that he was humiliated in the party from December last year and asserted that he would show his strength at an appropriate time. He also used the occasion to issue a warning to the officials who, he said, were working against him.

Reddy claimed that no one would be able to wield power forever and warned that those who created trouble for his followers would pay the price for it. He said that Adinarayana Reddy would represent the Ashwaraopet constituency in the coming elections while asserting that they would rule the politics in the constituency.
