Prasanna Kumar Suryadevara appointed advisor to Telangana Secretariat

For five years he served as officer on special duty to the Speaker of Lok Sabha. He was a key player in setting up of a TV channel for the Parliament – ‘Lok Sabha TV’.

HYDERABAD: Prasanna Kumar Suryadevara has been appointed as advisor to the Secretariat of the Legislature of Telangana. Prasanna Kumar is being brought in as advisor to infuse more professionalism into the functioning of the Secretariat of the legislature. His appointment is made at the initiative of the presiding officers of the legislature Gutha Sukender Reddy and Gaddam Prasad Kumar. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy readily approved the proposal to appoint Prasanna Kumar as advisor.

Prasanna Kumar Suryadevara has about 30 years of rich experience in serving the Government of India in diverse capacities. He also has a strong educational foundation in science, research and law.

For five years he served as officer on special duty to the Speaker of Lok Sabha.

He was a key player in setting up of a TV channel for the Parliament – ‘Lok Sabha TV’.

He also served for over six years as joint director and director in the office of vice-president/chairman of Rajya Sabha. He was a key founding member of ‘Rajya Sabha TV’.

For nearly three years, he worked as secretary to the Legislative Assembly of NCT of Delhi. As head of the department, he was known for infusing professionalism in the Secretariat and for initiating reforms of far reaching consequences in the functioning of the Legislature.

Prasanna Kumar also served the office of Chief Justice of India and in the registry of Supreme Court of India as OSD and registrar.

In the initial phase of his association with the Government, he had served as newscaster in Telugu with All India Radio.

He originally hails from Khammam District and studied in various Governmenti institutions in the district till Intermediate. Thereafter he graduated in Science from the Silver Jubilee Government Residential College, Kurnool.

Subsequently, he got a M.Sc. Degree and M.Phil. in Environmental Sciences from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and a Degree in Law from University of Delhi.
