HYDERABAD: All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjun Kharge and MP Rahul Gandhi will address a public meeting at Tukkuguda on April 6, 2024 to mark the launch of Lok Sabha election campaign in Telangana.

Kharge and Rahul would unveil the Telugu version of party election manifesto on the occasion. The decision to hold the meeting in Tukkuguda was finalised during a preparatory meeting held at the residence of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy last week.

Tukkuguda was chosen as the venue because the Congress came to power in the State following Sonia Gandhi's rally at the same location in September last year. During the September rally, Sonia released a six-guarantee card from the meeting venue.

In line with the six guarantees promised during the Telangana elections, the party plans to introduce 'five nyay pillars' for the Lok Sabha elections. These pillars include Yuva Nyay (justice for youth), Nari Nyay (justice for women), Kisan Nyay (justice for farmers), Shramik Nyay (justice for workers), and Hissedari Nyay (justice for various communities based on caste census).

Following the meeting in the first week of April, Revanth would embark on a whirlwind campaign across 17 constituencies, with AICC leaders, Chief Ministers, and former Chief Ministers expected to address gatherings. The State Congress leadership has requested the high command to ensure that Sonia addresses at least one public meeting in Telangana before May 11.
