YADADRI: In a shocking incident of negligence, rats chewed off a dead body at the Government Hospital in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri.

On Sunday, Ravi, a lorry driver from Pragati Nagar in Bhuvanagiri town, died by suicide by hanging himself when no one was at home. The police then shifted his body to the hospital for a post-mortem. Tragically, due to the lack of attention from hospital staff, rats gnawed the deceased's face, cheeks and forehead.

According to eye witnesses, the hospital staff attempted to cover up the incident by quietly proceeding with the post-mortem. However, their attempts to keep the matter hidden were thwarted when some locals discovered the distressing scene and took photographs of the rats gnawing on the body. The images quickly circulated, leading to severe criticism of the hospital staff's negligence.

The grieving family, informed by concerned individuals, rushed to the hospital and were appalled by the horrific sight. The family alleged that the hospital had long been plagued by a rat infestation, but the staff consistently turned a blind eye to the issue. The hospital authorities initiated an inquiry into the matter and assured the family that appropriate action would be taken against those found responsible for the negligence
