HYDERABAD: Revanth Reddy has come out in support of TDP president Chandrababu Naidu and said that there was nothing wrong in IT employees protesting in Hyderabad in support of Naidu who has been arrested in the skill development scam in the neighbouring State of Andhra Pradesh.

A day before, Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao (KTR) had said that Telangana had nothing to do with the arrest of Naidu and that it was a political issue in Andhra Pradesh. He said that protests would lead to a law and order situation in Hyderabad and that's why they were compelled to block it.

In a chit chat with the media in Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday. Revanth criticised the comments by KTR and said, "Hyderabad is the joint capital of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for 10 years. How can you not hold dharnas here? KTR had protested in front of the White House in USA during the Telangana movement. What is the relation between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh? Imposing restrictions on IT employees is meaningless.

"BRS party needs the votes of Kammas (Chandrababu Naidu’s caste) but when there's a problem, they back out. Chandrababu's arrest is not limited to Andhra politics. It is a national issue," he said.

Speaking about the plans of Telangana Congress for the upcoming Assembly elections in the State, Revanth said, "Backward classes will be given more seats than what the BRS has promised. Malkajgiri MLA Mynampally Hanumantha Rao will join the Congress tomorrow. Two tickets have been finalised from his family. We will annouce the candidates for elections in a phased manner. The screening committee report has been finalised."

Speaking about the prospects of the BRS, the MIM and the BJP for the polls in Telangana, Revanth claimed, "BRS will not even win 25 seats as per our surveys. The BJP and MIM will be limited to single digits."
