HYDERABAD: TPCC president A Revanth Reddy met with A Chandrasekhar, who resigned from the BJP, and extended an invitation to him to join the Congress giving a call to unite anti-KCR forces.

Revanth Reddy called on the former BJP leader atbthe latter’s residence on Sunday.

Addressing on this occasion, the Malkajgiri MLA said that Chandrasekhar had played a crucial role i. Telangana agitation and went on to take a dig at Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekar Rao saying that the latter was involved in the large-scale corruption looting crores of rupees besides taking assigned lands.

Stating that Chandrasekhar had accepted the invitation to join the Congress party, A Revanth Reddy said that a meeting under the auspices of Congress national president Mallikarjuna Kharge was scheduled on the August 18 where a declaration for the poor would be made.

Revanth Reddy further said that the BRS and the BJP were working hand in glove and pointed out that there was a need for the unity between the Congress and other parties to address the issues faced by the state and send the current government home. He also said that the Congress party would take up the issues of SC and STs to increase their reservations in accordance with the population and ensure that the rights of SC and STs prevailed.

A Chandrasekhar, who also spoke, raised concerns about the alleged encroachment and sale of 35 lakh acres of Dalit lands by the government. He demanded that Dalits and tribals be granted full rights to the assigned lands given to them and opined that Congress Party has accepted this proposal.
