HYDERABAD: The Congress Government in its bid to remove the remnants of the KCR dispensation has embarked on a major crackdown of all systems. Revanth Reddy Government sacked the retired IAS, IPS, and other All-India Services officers rehabilitated in senior advisory roles.

In the process, erstwhile Chief Secretary of Telangana Somesh Kumar was sacked. In fact, Somesh was thrown out of the top job by the State High Court declaring that he belonged to the Andhra cadre. The High Court had set aside the stay granted by the Central Administrative Tribunal to Somesh Kumar and asked him to report to the AP Government. He had complied with the court order and eventually sought voluntary retirement from the Indian Administrative Service. KCR accommodated him as the Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister just to continue his service and provide him a respectable rehabilitation.

In fact, KCR had “honoured” Rajiv Sharma, the first Chief Secretary, and Anurag Sharma, the first DGP, of Telangana with chief advisory positions.

Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari through a Government order on Saturday withdrew appointments and extension of posts of seven chief advisors and advisors who worked with the BRS Government.

Extension of services of Dr Rajiv Sharma, IAS (Retd), chief advisor to Government, Anurag Sharma, IPS (Retd), advisor Police, Law and Order AK Khan, IPS (Retd), advisor Minorities Welfare, GR Reddy, IES (Retd) advisor Finance, R Sobha, IFS (Retd) advisor Forest Affairs, Somesh Kumar, IAS(Retd) chief advisor to CM and appointment of Dr.Chennamaneni Ramesh, MLA., as chief advisor, Agriculture issued orders sacking them with effect from December 7, 2023.
