HYDERABAD: Challenging the Centre to reveal the real investors behind the Dharani-Integrated Land Records Management System, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Chief A Revanth Reddy, dared Union Tourism Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana unit president G Kishan Reddy to take the initiative.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday, Revanth Reddy announced that he would release ‘Dharani Files’ a series based on illegal transactions that took place under the garb of Dharani in the State only after July 15, 2023.

“I will narrate every single instance with the help of a powerpoint presentation just like the one, did by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in the Assembly on irrigation projects,” he said.

Suspecting a bigger scam than the one that meets the eye, Revanth Reddy said that one must go beyond the original developer TerraCIS and Makati of Philippines that had been operating the Dharani now. The TPCC chief alleged that details of valuable lands and their owners were surreptitiously handed over to foreigners through the portal.

“The portal has details of investments made by Great Britain, the portal is now run by criminals who have committed financial irregularities across the globe,” he said alleging that one Gade Sridhar Raju who had friends in higher places was behind the land scam.

Explaining the modus operandi of the Dharani land scam, Revanth Reddy said that the culprits by identifying the lacune of the system were usurping government lands that were kept under the blacklisted category by slowly registering them in other’s names. He gave instances of botched-up efforts to sell endowment lands to a pharma company.

He said that the Congress after coming to power in the State would replace Dharani with a better, technologically advanced and improved portal and would also investigate each case to bring justice to the common man.

The TPCC chief reiterated that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) was indeed the BJP’s B team and said that the recent visit of IT Minister KT Rama Rao to New Delhi further sealed the relationship between the two parties.

Land Declaration

The TPCC also released its ‘Land Declaration’ on Thursday promising that it would rectify all the land record-related mistakes with the help of revenue camps within 100 days after assuming power in the State.

In addition to removing all the blacklisted ‘Patta’ lands from the portal, the party promised a Title Guarantee Act to ensure hassle-free transfer of property. Making tenant farmers eligible for farm loans and granting land rights to all ‘Podu’ farmers were some of the other promises mentioned in the declaration.

Later addressing a booth-level management camp, Revanth Reddy called upon party workers to be vigilant as the BRS and the BJP combine were trying to alter the voters list to suit their requirements. “There are 34,654 polling booths in the state and we must be ready to obstruct their moves at every level,” he said.
