NEW DELHI: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MPs staged a protest on the premises of Parliament on Thursday demanding revocation of suspension against their Rajya Sabha members. They gathered in front of the Gandhi statue inside the sprawling premises of the Parliament and raised slogans.

A total of 15 MPs including four TRS members were suspended from Rajya Sabha recently. The punitive action was taken after they pressed for a debate on a host of issues like the hike in GST, price rise and inflation.

Demanding reversal of the suspension, the contingent of the TRS MPs including Lok Sabha members displayed placards as part of the Thursday protest. They were also unrelenting on their demand for a detailed discussion in the House. The members said that as the increase in GST and the prices of essential commodities were placing an enormous burden on the common man, the House needed to take up these issues for discussion.
