HYDERABAD: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on Monday pointed out that the Bharatiya Janata Party at the Centre did nothing to fulfill the guarantees given to Telangana during the bifurcation of the State and later during its decade-long rule at the Centre.

Addressing media at the Telangana Bhavan party leader Manne Krishank said that BJP always does politics for the sake of elections.”But why does the Congress Government in Telangana never question the BJP? What happened to the establishment of the Turmeric Board that Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised before the elections?,” Krishank observed.

Enlisting the multitude of programmes that the Narendra Modi Government undertook in various States, he said that Modi gave Rs 19,150 crore for Uttar Pradesh, Rs 17,000 crore for Ayodhya, Rs 20,000 crore for Tamilnadu, Rs 4,000 crore for Kerala, Rs 1,340 crore for Goa, Rs 1,100 crore for Lakshadweep, IIT and IIM for AP, Rs 30,000 crore for Jammu and Kashmir, Rs 40,000 crore in Gujarat and Rs 13,000 crore for Varanasi. He pointed out that just two days ago the PM declared works worth Rs 2 lakh crore for his home State of Gujarat.

“Three months ago the PM announced a plethora of programmes for Telangana and even laid foundations for many but has failed to implement them. Modi goes around all the Rama temples in the country but not Bhadrachalam,” he said.

The step-motherly treatment meted out by the PM towards Telangana proved one thing. The promises were limited to elections. “How can Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay, and Dharmapuri Arvind seek votes from Telangana people? BJP is nothing but the Bada Jhoota Party. We will take this plank into elections,” he said.

Krishank said that Modi saw to it that all major projects went to Gujarat. He said that people must vote for the BRS in the ensuing elections as it was the only party that would fight for Telangana. He said that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy predicted that Congress would never come to power at the Centre, so why would Telangana vote for Congress? He said. He also pointed out that Congress never questioned the injustice meted out to Telangana in the union budget.
