HYDERABAD: The Telangana Government is organising 15-day long- celebrations – Swatantra Bharatha Vajrotsavalu, as part of India's 75 years of independence. These Vajrotsavalu are being organised as part of "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav", a 75-week countdown, started by the Centre in March 2021. Two days before Independence day, multiple rallies were organised by various government and private organisations across the Telangana State.

A 'Freedom Rally' was organised by the GHMC from the GHMC headquarters to the Vivekananda statue, Tank Bund on Saturday. GHMC Staff, Entomology, DRF Teams, Senior Officers, NSS, NCC, Bharat Scouts and Guide students and Police Department personnel were holding national flags and raising slogans Bharath Matha ki Jai to display patriotism.


Minister for State Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Home Minister Mahmood Ali and State Chairman of Swatantra Bharata Vajrotsavam Committee Rajya Sabha members participated in the rally held in Hyderabad.

The State Panchayat Raj Rural Development Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao participated in a rally organised on the Warangal-Khammam main road under the auspices of students and voluntary organisations in Palakurthi Constituency.

Government officials also organised a huge rally with the tricolour flag in Jangaon town of Janagaon district.

Farmers waved national flags in the crop fields on the outskirts of Mukhra Ke village of Nirmal and also held a rally.
