CHICAGO, USA: Telangana Agriculture Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy visited Long View Farm, in the state of Iowa, USA, to study modern methods of cultivation. The Minister was accompanied by a team of officials from the Telangana Agriculture Department on Wednesday. The Minister said that he was impressed by the use of modern technology and machinery at the farm. He added that the Telangana Government was committed for promoting the agriculture model in the State on a global level and for turning the sector into an industry.

The Minister added that the agricultural policies implemented in Telangana, such as providing free electricity for farmers, schemes like Rythu Bandhu, and irrigation projects like the Kaleshwaram project, have had a transformative impact on the sector. He said that these initiatives had greatly contributed to the development and progress of agriculture in Telangana.

The Minister said that Telangana's agricultural sector had witnessed significant advancements in the past nine years and emphasised the need to focus on modern farming practices. He said that the Government was working on a plan to promote the use of mechanisation in agriculture and to strengthen the cooperative system.

Niranjan Reddy's team also attended the Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Illinois, where they inspected various stalls at the world's largest farm exhibition. The Minister said that the exhibition was a great opportunity to learn about the latest trends in agriculture.

He said that the Telangana Government was committed to making the State a major agricultural hub and that the visit to the USA was part of the Government's efforts to achieve this goal.
