HYDERABAD: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday announced its first list fielding some big names into the electoral fray.

While all three MLA, T Raja Singh, Eatala Rajender, and M Raghunandan Rao, were renominated from their respective seats, Rajender’s desire to take on Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) supremo and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao at Gajwel was also fulfilled by the BJP leadership.

Thus, Rajender would contest from Huzurabad and Gajwel, while Raja Singh would contest from Goshamahal and Raghunandan Rao would seek a reelection from Dubbaka.

The party, in a strategic move, fielded Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar from Karimnagar Assembly constituency to fight Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar.

The party pitted Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind to contest against Dr Sanjay Kalvakuntla, who is a fresh face from the BRS as his father and sitting MLA K Vidyasagar Rao opted out, from Korutla Assembly constituency. Adilabad MP Soyam Bapu Rao, an Adivasi leader, is nominated to contest from Boath ST reserved Assembly seat.

The first list, however, did not have the name of Union Minister and party’s state president G Kishan Reddy who was perceived to be contesting from Amberpet Assembly seat.

Migrants from the BRS too got their due.
