HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vikas Raj has made it clear that elections will be conducted as per schedule and efforts are on for a peaceful and transparent election in the State.

Addressing media after inaugurating a media center at the BRK Bhavan on Saturday, Vikas Raj said that a team of officers from the Election Commission of India would be visiting the State for three days starting from October 3.

“In all, 3.38 lakh names were deleted and 15 lakh new names were added to the voters' list. Around 6.99 lakh new young voters will be taking part in the ensuing elections. We are also trying to improve the number of women voters by actively campaigning for their enrolment,” the CEO observed.

He said that the electoral authorities have identified 4,000 structures for the polling day and 20 different enforcement agencies would be taking part in the whole process. “We are also simultaneously checking the EVMs and attending to complaints, particularly from the GHMC area,” he said, adding that many of the complaints were about address-linked issues.
