HYDERABAD: Telangana State Government is at the receiving end of many of its decisions in the last little more than a year. The Telangana High Court snubbed the decisions of the government on many issues.

For instance, take a look at the series of judgments pronounced by Justice P Madhavi Devi of the Telangana High Court.

Is the government listening?

TSPSC conducted Group 1 prelims for the second time after the question paper leakage issue but failed to conduct the exam as per the notification. It didn’t take biometrics of the candidates leading to the cancellation of the exam by the High Court.

Interim orders on the promotions and transfers of headmasters in Rangareddy district. The orders came after several school assistants filed a petition alleging that teachers from other districts were being appointed in Rangareddy.

Recruitment notification for the appointment of 177 junior assistant Grade 2 posts in Singareni collieries was scrapped by the Court. The exam was cancelled due to irregularities during the conduction of the examination.

Interim orders on the implementation of GO 28 were issued on August 16 for the appointment of members for the Rangareddy District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. The court ordered a status quo on the implementation of the GO.

Interim orders stopping the recruitment of 623 ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife) posts in the State Tribal Welfare Residential Schools. The stay orders came after a petition was filed urging the court to declare that it is illegal to appoint STs as ANMs in tribal areas.

Orders terming the appointment of village revenue assistants (VRAs) as junior assistants is illegal.

Directions to the Police Recruitment Board to allow those whose driving license expired but renewed within a year for recruitment into the Disaster Management and Fire Department as drivers. The judgment said that such persons had already written the examination following the interim orders in the issue. The court further wanted the Government to release the results of physical endurance and driving test results and complete the process of recruitment.

The Court fined Rs 10,000 each on IAS officers Navin Mittal, Vakati Karuna and others in contempt of court cases. The court also imposed a one-month jail term on these officers.
