WARANGAL: Telangana government will restore the old glory of the combined Warangal district by bringing in more industries to the district, said Telangana Industries minister KT Rama Rao on Saturday.

Following the groundbreaking ceremony for the Youngone Textile and Apparel Complex in Warangal, KTR said, "We all know that we have black gold in our state, but I recently learned that we also have white gold in our state. We have no idea that Patti (Cotton) grown in Telangana was of the highest grade and was white gold until we were told by the South India Mills Association."

While thanking the farmers who contributed land for the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park, KTR said, "We will restore Warangal to its past glory. We are developing the Kakatiya Textile Park in Warangal, which has a good reputation due to its able leaders. Cotton of good quality is grown in the Warangal district. Ganesha Ecosphere's manufacturing facilities launched in Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal have already invested Rs.600 crores and offered employment to thousands."

The Minister said, "The Youngone factories at Kakatiya Textile Park will generate employment for 21,000 people. Four factories will be set up in the first phase providing employment to nearly 6,000 people, and seven more will come up in subsequent phases."

Founded in 1974, Youngone Corporation is a leading global manufacturer of outdoor/ athletic clothing, textiles, footwear and gear built with a history of innovation, partnership and trust.

The minister explained about the Youngone Textile and Apparel Complex, "The Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) has allocated 298 acres of land to Youngone Corporation. The corporation has ambitious plans to invest Rs 840 crore in the project, which is estimated to create around 11,700 direct jobs."

The Minister assured that a majority of jobs at the factories will be reserved for locals, particularly women. The Minister also announced plans to provide transportation facilities for women and establish a daycare center for their children.

KTR highlighted that the factories would adhere to international standards, and the garments produced in Telangana would be exported to America, Europe, and other nations.

"Youngone Company is one of the largest industries in Korea. Warangal-made garments will now be exported to many countries. What is going on in Telangana should be known to the entire world. Our country offers tremendous prospects in agriculture and the textile sector. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are ahead of us in the textile business," the minister added.

Addressing the importance of India's growth in the textile sector, the Industries Minister emphasized that reforms in this industry would positively impact employment, provide support to farmers through assured minimum support price (MSP), and increase the State's revenue. The establishment of Kakatiya Mega Textile Park is a significant step in this direction, fostering the growth of the textile sector and generating substantial employment opportunities.

Minister KT Rama Rao, along with Minister Erraballi Dayakar Rao, broke the ground for 11 factories belonging to Youngone Corporation at Kakatiya Mega Textile Park (KMTP) in Warangal on Saturday.
