HYDERABAD: A High Court division bench posted the hearing on Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) Group 1 prelims exam cancellation to Wednesday and asked Advocate-General BS Prasad to submit complete details of the exam.

The High Court questioned the TSPSC about the difficulties in implementing biometrics and directed it to provide the details of the examinations conducted previously without biometrics.

“Why did the Commission not implement biometrics even though it was mentioned in the notification? How can it ignore the implementation of guidelines in the notification? The Commission should be cautious after the cancellation of the exam. It is the responsibility of the Commission to imbibe confidence among the aspirants. Now the aspirants’ future is left in the lurch,” the High Court said.

On September 23, the High Court cancelled the TSPSC Group 1 prelims exam 2023 following a petition filed by candidates and the NSUI. The TSPSC appealed against the verdict of the single judge bench scrapping the Group 1 examinations conducted by it.
