HDERABAD: Telangana experienced extreme heat for eight days in a row, with the maximum temperature in Nalgonda reaching 45.4 degree Celsius on Friday.

Friday was also the hottest day so far, with 45°4 degrees recorded in Telangana's Nalgonda district and 42.5 degrees in Hyderabad's Khairatabad.

Nalgonda reeled under the highest temperature of 45.4 degrees Celsius, followed by Karimnagar (45.1 degrees), Nirmal (45.1 degrees), Mancherial (44.9 degrees) and Suryapet (44.8 degrees).

The highest temperature of 42.5 degrees in Hyderabad was recorded in the Khairatabad area, followed by Medchal Malkajgiri (42.3 degrees), Charminar (41.1 degrees) and Rangareddy (41.1 degrees).

According to Telangana Weatherman T Balaji, similar heat will continue every day until monsoon arrives, with no signs of relief. Isolated or scattered storms may be possible in the next few days but they will only bring temporary relief from the intense heat.

"Similar heat to continue until monsoon onset, and we may experience daily temperatures of 45°C-46°C in rural Telangana and 41°C-43°C in Hyderabad. We'll also get some scattered rainfall from May 20-21, with short but strong spells and winds," the Weatherman said.
