HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vikas Raj directed all media outlets on Saturday to stop airing all of the Congress' political advertisements with immediate effect, which were in violation of the Media Certification Monitoring Committee (MCMC).

Telangana CEO Vikas Raj said that they made this decision after observing that these political advertisements had been aired on TV channels and social media platforms in violation of MCMC rules. He also shared the respective video clips of the advertisements.

In a letter addressed to all the editors and input editors Vikas Raj said, "I am writing to inform you that the political advertisements approved by the State Level Certification Committee (SLCC) for the purpose of the 2023 Assembly elections have been modified and misused. Further it is observed that they are being telecasted in violation of the rules of MCMC. Hence, the approval for those Political Advertisements are cancelled. I therefore request you kindly to stop telecasting those political advertisements in your channel with immediate effect."
