Tenders called for Twitter trending on Liberation Day

HYDERABAD: The Request For Proposal (RFP) released by the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) under the Union Ministry of Culture for Telangana Liberation Day included handling 'Twitter Trending" in its scope of work.

Twitter trending, what happens naturally if multiple twitter users discuss a topic, is coming across as an agenda for the BJP to make themselves visible on the social media platform by using rather unethical methods.

Recently, the BJP's tweet content sheet, which was prepared for being posted by multiple accounts, was also leaked, which seemed to show a detailed report of what would trend on Twitter and how that would be made possible by posting and commenting through fake accounts or even bots.

With recent incidents like Union Finance Minister asking for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's pictures being put up outside ration shops and the BJP's 'scope of work' including Twitter trending, it was a point to speculate on how low the Centre could stoop.
