There will be Congress tsunami in Telangana polls: Rahul Gandhi

PEDAPALLI: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has said that there will be a Congress tsunami in Telangana polls and this tsunami will be brought about by Congress workers.

Speaking at Vijayabheri Sabha here on Thursday, Rahul Gandhi said, "My relationship with Telangana is not just political but is a loving family bond. Before me, all of you shared this relationship with Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi.

"In 2004, Congress said that Telangana would be formed and then Sonia Gandhi took a decision to grant the State for the betterment of labourers, farmers and the public. But even after 10 years, your dreams and Sonia Gandhi's dreams have not been fulfilled by K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR)," Rahul said.

Sharing that the upcoming elections would be a battle between Dorala (landlords) Telangana and Prajala (common man) Telangana, Rahul said, "KCR works like a king and not like a Chief Minister. In Kaleshwaram project, he did corruption of Rs 1 lakh crore. But dd you get water from the project? Only CM's conractors were benefitted. Similarly, Dharani Portal was made only to grab your land. Digitisation was just an excuse to grab land. Many didn't get 2BHK houses. How many got Rs 1 lakh farm loan waver except big landlords?"

Sharing that the KCR Government lied to people, Rahul said,"KCR lied that they will deposit money in your account. We won't lie to you. Check with people in Karnataka. Do women travel in free buses? Do they get money in bank accounts every month, do they get subsidised LPG cylinders and electricity bills? The same will happen in Telagnana through Mahalakshmi, Rythu Bharosa scheme, Indiramma Illu, Gruha Jyoti, Yuva Vikasam and Cheyutha pension schemes. This is our guarantee. We will pass this in the first cabinet meeting on the first day of coming to power just like we did in Karnataka."

Meanwhile, TPCC president Revanth Reddy, countering the ruling BRS Goverment said, "KCR who cheated people in the name of water, funds and jobs is again coming to you to seek votes and come to power for the third time. If Sonia Gandhi did not grant Telangana, KCR and KTR would have resorted to begging."
