HYDERABAD: Top Maoist leader and Central Committee member Malla Rajireddy (70) alias Sayanna has reportedly passed away. Unconfirmed reports stated that he died due to ill-health. While the Maoist party has not made any statement on Raji Reddy's death so far, Chhattisgarh Police officials confirmed Rajireddy's death.

Malla Rajireddy's was raised is Eglaspur in Manthani mandal of Peddapalli district. He played a key role for the banned organisation in Chhattisgarh and Odisha forests. He also played a key role in expansion of Maoist activities in united Khammam, Warangal and Karimnagar districts in Telangana.

He had many pseudo names such as Sangram, Sayanna, Meesala Sayanna, Alok, Alias ​​Deshpande, Sattenna. He also has a 'Nazarana' (lookout notice) which carried a reward of Rs 1 crore.
