HYDERABAD: Is the accused no.2 in the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) A Rajasekhar Reddy an activist of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)?

Chairman of the Telangana State Mineral Development Corporation Krishank Manne tweeted a couple of pictures on Wednesday in which Rajasekhar Reddy was seen sporting the BJP scarf.

Krishank’s tweet reads: “ In the pictures you see is TSPSC Paper Leak Case Accused 2 , A. Rajashekar .

He works for BJP …

Is this a conspiracy by BJP against Government of Telangana ? ?”

This tweet has sent the BJP ranks into a tizzy and the investigation agency (SIT) of the Hyderabad City Police’s Additional Commissioner (Crimes) A R Srinivas is looking into it.

Commissioner of Hyderabad City Police C V Anand told NewsTAP that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the TSPSC question paper leak would look into even this angle whether any of the accused had any political connections and the motive behind the leakage.

If Rajasekhar Reddy is a BJP activist, which wing of the party he is working for has to be looked into. Especially, this needs to be probed in the light of the observations of TSPSC Chairman Dr B Janardhan Reddy. He said on Tuesday that Rajasekhar Reddy, along with an assistant section officer in TSPSC Praveen, resorted to criminal breach of trust. He had said that Rajasekhar Reddy knew all the passwords and IP addresses of the servers from where the question papers of the examinations notified through 26 announcements covering 17,000 jobs.

The TSPSC chairman said, that P. Praveen Kumar, a TSPSC assistant section officer, was the main accused. Atla Rajasekhar Reddy, who had been working as a network expert as part of the Telangana Technology Services team since November 2017, was also involved. The question paper was sold for a whopping Rs 10 lakh. "We shall suspend them for the time being and thereafter terminate them in accordance with the rules", he said.

The BRS ranks are likening the case to the attempt to poach four MLAs of the party with a view to destabilising the KCR Government, just before the Munugode by-election. It may be recalled that four MLAs - Pilot Rohit Reddy, Guvvala Balaraju, Rega Kantha Rao and Beeram Harshavardhan Reddy — of the BRS were approached by two self styled godmen Ramachandra Bharati and Simhayaji, along with city-based businessman Nandu Kumar, to negotiate and making them switch sides to the BJP.

The issue ended up as a sting operation and the three were arrested, and later released on bail.
