HYDERABAD: The Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing the TSPSC question paper leak scandal, on Monday arrested one more person in connection with the case. Tirupataiah, a native of Gandeed mandal in Mahabubnagar district, was arrested for allegedly purchasing the question paper of the entrance test for the posts of Assistant Engineers. With this, the total number of people arrested in the case so far rose to 15.

Following interrogation of the other accused in the case, the SIT was reportedly able to establish that Tirupataiah purchased the leaked question paper from Dakya Naik, the husband of Renuka Rathod. Dakya Naik has already been arrested and his revelations during questioning led to the arrest of Tirupataiah on Monday.

The investigating team is looking to press the pedal hard in its investigation following the receipt of a key report from the forensic lab. According to SIT sources, Dakya Naik, was one of those who moved closely with Praveen, a key accused in the case. Besides Praveen, Rajasekhar Reddy, Renuka Rathod and Dakya Naik are considered the main accused in the sensational question papers leak scandal. They, along with 10 others, are already under the custody of the SIT. The probe team may grill Tirupataiah along with other key accused to unravel as to how many others have their involvement in the case.

The SIT, on the other hand, has already issued notices to close to 40 others for questioning, suspecting their role in the purchase and circulation of the leaked question papers. Some of them are expected to appear before the SIT on Monday for questioning.
