Passengers can avail the bus pass facility in Karimnagar, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda and Nizambad district headquarters from Tuesday

HYDERABAD: To ease the financial burden on its passengers, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) for the first time has announced ‘Palle Velugu Town Bus Pass’ in Karimnagar, Mahbubnagar, Nizamabad and Nalgonda district headquarters. Passengers can avail the bus pass facility from Tuesday. A poster in this regard was unveiled by TSRTC managing director VC Sajjanar at Bus Bhavan in Hyderabad on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Sajjanar said, “Several employees and small traders travel a lot in the district centers. To reduce their financial burden, the TSRTC management has introduced the ‘Palle Velugu Town Bus Pass’. The bus pass facility will be made accessible for passengers in Karimnagar, Mahbubnagar, Nizamabad and Nalgonda district centers on a pilot basis. Based on the feedback from the passengers, we will expand the town bus pass facility to more areas in Telangana.”

Sajjanar said that with the town bus pass facility, passengers could travel unlimitedly within a 10 km radius in Karimnagar and Mahbubnagar and a 5 km radius in Nizamabad and Nalgonda. The TSRTC had finalized the price of the town bus pass at Rs 800 per month for 10 km radius and Rs 500 for 5 km radius. A general bus pass facility was already available in Hyderabad and Warangal, he said.

The TSRTC MD appealed to the passengers to make use of the facility on the lines of Hyderabad and Warangal and extend their support to the Corporation. For further details, passengers could contact TSRTC call center numbers 040-69440000 and 040-23450033, Sajjanar added.

TSRTC chief operating officer Ravindra and other senior officials were also present.
