HYDERABAD: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC), which is currently running as many as ten electric buses on the Hyderabad- Vijayawada highway, has decided to expand its operations on various routes. The corporation has placed an order for 1,860 express, deluxe, and super luxury electric buses and is planning to flag them off in December.

As part of this initiative, TSRTC managing director VC Sajjana personally visited the JBM Group manufacturing facility in Palwal, Haryana, to inspect the manufacturing of the new electric buses. He observed the progress of the express, deluxe, and super luxury electric buses at various stages of manufacturing, including two prototype buses.

During the visit, JBM Group Head Sales (North) Mukesh Sharma discussed the project with TSRTC GM Operations Prashant Sharma and provided valuable suggestions while MD VC Sajjanar urged them to expedite the construction process and deliver the buses to the TSRTC promptly.

Sajjanar said that JBM Group would supply 500 electric buses to TSRTC as per their agreement. The buses would be delivered in installments, with some expected to be available in December. "TSRTC aims to roll out these buses with state-of-the-art amenities, ensuring passenger comfort is not compromised," Sajjanar said adding that the buses would be equipped with passenger counting facilities and CCTV cameras for enhanced security.

He added that Fire Detection Suppression Systems (FDSS) would be installed to detect and prevent fire accidents and asserted that buses would also feature a reverse parking assistance camera and LED boards for destination details.
