HYDERABAD: BRS Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) has said that the skywalk in Uppal is a testament of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) commitment towards infrastructure development in the constituency, while the incomplete flyover in Uppal is proof of the BJP-led NDA Government’s inefficiency.

KTR participated in a booth committee meeting in Uppal Constituency on Thursday. Addressing the party cadre, he said that the constituency was housing various national institutions and people from various States were residing in Uppal, which was also called a 'Mini India'. Around Rs 2,500 crore worth of development works were progressing in various stages in the constituency, he said.

Referring to the skywalk in Uppal, KTR said that the BRS Government had examined the plight of the pedestrians at Uppal, one of the busiest junctions in the city, and constructed the skywalk, which was the first such facility in the city and the State, at an estimated cost of Rs 25 crore.

Taking a jibe at the Centre, KTR criticised that the BJP-led NDA Government turned a blind eye over completion of the flyover in Uppal. Initially, the State Government had informed the Centre to take up the flyover construction in Uppal. However, the Centre had denied the proposal and handed over the project works to NHAI. So far there was no progress in this regard, he said.

Launching a scathing attack on TPCC president A Revanth Reddy, who represents Medchal Malkajgiri, KTR said that Revanth Reddy was least bothered about the plight of the people. "The TPCC president never visited Uppal and LB Nagar constituencies, even during the floods. In what capacity he is ensuring development for the people of Telangana at a time, ignoring the people's woes in his own parliamentary constituency," he said.

Highlighting the welfare made by the BRS in Uppal Constituency, KTR said that several roads were repaired in Uppal, multi purpose convention center at the Mini Shilparamam, Vykunta Daman and other works. He urged the people of Uppal to elect BRS MLA candidate Bandari Lakshma Reddy with a thumping victory for the holistic development of the constituency.
