Warangal municipality's commendable initiative for Monsoon

WARANGAL: A monsoon control room to attend to the emergencies during rainy season was set up in Warangal city.

Mayor of Warangal Gundu Sudha Rani and Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation Commissioner P. Pravinya launched the monsoon control room on Tuesday. This initiative would allow the public to report issues caused by rain by either dialling a toll-free number or directly sharing images and location details on 'WhatsApp'.

The officials had announced that four teams of Disaster Relief Force (DRF) and two special teams would work round the clock in the control room and provide services even during the night.

"If you take advantage of these numbers and bring the issue to their attention, they will take action on a war footing basis so that there is no trouble caused to anyone," the GWMC commissioner said.
