KHAMMAM: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and his family of looting Telangana over the last nine years and asserted that the Congress rule will wipe out the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) by establishing a welfare Government.

Rahul, addressing three massive rallies in Pinapaka, Narsampet and Warangal East constituencies as part of his Vijayabheri Yatra on Friday, said, “The wealth of Telangana went to one family, and the funds allocated for major projects like Kaleshwaram were swallowed in the form of huge commissions."

Stating that the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme fell like nine pins, he alleged that this project was living proof of KCR's corruption.

“I went to the Kaleswaram project and saw it. KCR has looted lakhs and crores of rupees on this project and it sustained cracks in the dam and the pillars are bent. This is the sad tale of Kaleshwaram," he said.

Rahul added that KCR's family rule had taken the State for a ride and it almost took the newly formed State towards a quandary.

“All corrupt departments in the Cabinet are being handled by KCR's family and the people have been compelled to face hardships," Rahul Gandhi said.

The Congress leader spoke at length about all the issues and promises where the BRS rule flopped utterly.

“No loan waiver, no double bedroom houses, no free fertilizers were given. A total of 20 lakh people were compelled to lose their lands due to Dharani portal misinterpretations," Rahul said.

Regarding national politics, the Congress leader said that he took a Bharat Jodo Yatra and trekked from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.

“The country is in danger with the BJP and the RSS. An attempt is being made to drive a wedge between religions. Ours is a country that spreads love, not hatred," he said.

The Congress leader was vehement that the trio of the BJP, the BRS and the Majlis were hand-in-glove in the State.

"We have punctured the Modi wagon. The BJP will not be seen in Telangana but they are trying to make the BRS win. The BJP and the BRS MPs are helping each other in Lok Sabha. The MIM will contest against Congress to strengthen the BJP," he cautioned the public to understand this predicament.
