With KTR's efforts, 6 Telangana youths return home after Dubai nightmare

HYDERABAD: Six Telangana youths, who were recently stranded at Dubai Airport for 15 days, heaved a sigh of relief after arriving at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad near here on Thursday night, thanks to the timely intervention of Telangana Minister for Municipal and Urban Development KT Rama Rao (KTR).

Four of the youngsters belong to Rajanna Sircilla district while the other hails from Nizamabad district. The youths, after being cheated by agents and their Dubai employer, were left stranded when they were denied permission to leave the country by the Dubai airport authorities. Nowhere to go and stranded outside the airport, the youths in distress sent out an SoS video message using the social media platforms. They requested KTR to help them and bailed them out of Dubai.

Responding to this, the Minister immediately took the initiative to bring the youths back home and spoke to the officials of the Indian Consulate in Dubai. KTR even arranged the expenses for the youngsters to come home and, as a result, they reached India safely on Thursday night.

Banjara Community District President Guguloth Suresh Naik, TRS Mandal President Gujjula Rajireddy and others met the youths upon their arrival at the Shamshabad Airport and inquired about their well-being. Later, the youths were sent to their respective hometowns in a special vehicle. On this occasion, the family members of the youngsters thanked Minister KTR and the State Government.
