Yellow alert for Telangana: Weather department forecasts rains in Telangana for four days

HYDERABAD: Giving respite from sweltering heat across Telangana the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad centre issued a yellow alert forecasting hailstorms and heavy rain accompanied by lightning and gusty winds in parts of Telangana for four days followed by dry weather.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers would occur in isolated places in Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, and Narayanpet districts on Monday and thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) could occur at isolated places in Peddapally, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda and Rangareddy districts of Telangana on Monday till Tuesday.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers might occur at isolated places over Telangana.

Hailstorms with thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and Gusty winds might occur at isolated places in Nizamabad, Jagityal, Rajanna Sirsilla, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, and Kamareddy, districts. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds could occur at isolated places in Adilabad, KomaramBheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Karimnagar, Peddapally and Medak districts of Telangana on Wednesday.

Similar conditions could prevail in Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Khammam, uryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda Mahabubnagar and Nagarkurnool districts of Telangana from Wednesday to Thursday.

City forecast

The Telangana weatherman also warned of heavy rains in Hyderabad city on Monday afternoon. The X handle of the Telangana Weatherman spotted clouds forming over the city and rain in the next one or two hours.
