Youth kills father over electricity bill payment in Vikarabad

VIKARABAD: A heated argument over the payment of an electricity bill led a youth to attack his father to death at Athvelly village in Vikarabad district on Tuesday.

According to police, the deceased was identified as Ramachandraiah and accused Yadaiah were staying in the same house. The duo were involved in a heated argument over payment of the electricity bill for their house. As both father and son were adamant regarding the electricity bill payments, the matter escalated to the village head.

While the village head and others were hearing their arguments, Yadaiah suddenly attacked his father with an iron rod and killed him. Ramachandraiah, who sustained severe injuries, died on the spot. Alerted villagers informed the police, who arrived at the crime spot and arrested Yadaiah.

The police registered a case and further investigations are underway.
